I am a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at Northwestern University, where I work on Inverse Problems and Deep Learning Applications for Image Processing in Image and Video Processing Lab, and advised by Prof. Aggelos Katsaggelos.
My research focuses on algorithm development for inverse problems, deep learning, and computer vision. Currently, I am working on ptychographic, tomographic, and laminographic image reconstructions using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). In additon to that, I am building neural networks for reconstructions of objects from tomographic measurements via deep image priors, detection of Covid-19 and Cardiac Amyloidosis from chest x-rays, and image enhancement. I am also involved in projects dealing with image restorations and image classifications using deep learning and inverse algorithms.
I got my undergraduate degree from Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. I had multiple internships in different industries and I worked as a software developer in Valensas, Istanbul, before coming to Northwestern University for my Masters and PhD degrees. In summer 2018 and summer 2020, I had Research Scientist Intern and Senior Research Scientiest Intern positions at Argonne National Laboratory, and in summer 2021 I had PhD Software Engineering Intern position at Uber Technologies Inc.
